GPS V at night. The multi-level illumination is bright (at the brightest setting) and easy to read. The unit is in "Navigating" mode. It can be in Navigating or not-navigating modes. Either mode has its own specification of data fields.
For instance, when navigating, I choose the bottom data field to be "ETA at Final", or, what time of day will it be when I arrive. It is quite accurate for highway driving but it tends to be too optimistic in the city since it does not accout for stoplights and traffic conditions.
But when the unit is NOT navigating (merely showing me where I am at the moment), the bottom data field I choose to be the time of day, right now. This can be confusing sometimes but "Distance to Next" has no meaning if you are not navigating a route. Instead, you can put something interesting there, such as Altitude.
