Dedicating a cemetary on Adak

This view looks south from the west end of the cliffs above Kuluk Bay. At the right edge about a mile away is what we later called Tacan Hill. It was shaved off in the 1980's to reduce wind shadowing effects that caused difficulties for landing aircraft (a 40 knot crosswind suddenly becoming calm is quite a problem!). If you look closely, you can see a small bit of beach, where later the Navfac would be built.

The men are standing near the first of the "S" curves going to Clam Lagoon.
